The Suburb International Journal is an instrument of formation/information realized by and for the inhabitants of disfavored suburbs from L.A. and Europe. It is an instrument of exchanging knowledge, experience and practice.
It is meant for community televisions (Hertzian waves or cable), for ONG, for associations, for citizens organizations, women, etc. “local” working (the village suburb) and it will be diffused on the Internet or shown on video-screens. The local becomes the best bridge towards “The Universal”. The use of TIC allows a greater visibility on the civil society and on its needs, especially in L.A., an increase on the development of independent mass-media, the promotion of the citizenship exercise and the freedom of expression, and to stop the information homogeneity of great communication congeries.
