ALICE
Summary
The ALICE project - "América Latina Interconectada con Europa" (Latin America interconnected with Europe) aims at improving the connection between the research centers and the academic institutions within the Latin American region by means of creating an infrastructure of networks in Latin America connected with the paneuropean research network GEANT.
At present there is no inter regional connection between the Latin American regions nor a connection between the paneuropean research network GEANT and the Latin American research networks. By means of creating a broad band connection infrastructure, @LIS aims at multiplying the number of research projects carried out jointly by different regions and sustaining the creation and diffusion of innovative applications UEAL. In implementing the above mentioned infrastructure of research networks and managing it, the ALICE project will take into consideration the best practices issued from the experience of the European research network and, at the same time, the specific exigencies and conditions of the Latin American countries.
